In the last 20 days since
iOS 12 Beta 6 was released to developers, Apple has pushed out five more, making it a record 11 developer betas ahead of seeding the gold master version. (Last year saw Apple release 10 betas). While the changes have been pretty minimal, users on board the latest beta are being subjected to an annoying popup that continually suggests a new iOS update is available when it's not (something to do with its
calculation of current build expiration time, apparently). Have a look below -
New Do Not Disturb notification, New option to sort songs in Apple Music by Recently Added, Updated splash screen in Messages, new Sharing Suggestions message in Photos, and the repeated popup that prompts users to update to the new version |
New icon for Measure app, Spotlight in Apple News now serves Morning, Afternoon and Evening Digest, and new splash screens for Voice Memos and Messages |
New Shortcuts app that replaces Workflow |
Update on Aug. 31: Apple has put an end to the infuriating software update popup alert by releasing a new beta. (The release comes well ahead of the usual Monday schedule given the long Labor Day weekend in the U.S.)
