Music Review: Boomerang (Tamil)

Jithin Raj's singing is easily the best thing about Desame, a rhythmic protest music that's a neat blend of thumping percussion and traditional folk elements. Bobo Shashi, who was last heard in Thani Oruvan, aces the anthemic Vaan Thodave, even as Radhan gives the rousing melody his own touch, the song's flute-laden outro emerging its highpoint. With a lilting santoor-filled backdrop, Mughaiyazhi makes for a breathtakingly beautiful listen in Radhika Narayanan and Anand Aravindakshan's fine vocals, its instrumental version by Flute Kamalakhar working just as well. With Boomerang, Arjun Reddy fame Radhan makes his strongest outing in Tamil yet.
