Dhibu Ninan Thomas, who made his composing debut with Maragatha Naanayam last year, leaves you with a strong impression second time around - whether be it the catchy Punjabi-Tamil folk mix Vaayadi Petha Pulla, or the Carnatic-rock fusion Oonjala Oonjala, or the pensive melody Kanne En Kannazhage, or the hip-hop infused anthemic title song, Dhibu shows a knack for slickly produced tunes that make for highly engaging listens. But Kanaa's repeat-worthy highlight is Othaiyadi Pathayila, a mesmerising folky melody whose rhythmic traditional arrangement is wonderfully complemented by Anirudh Ravichander on the vocals.
