Music Review: Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham (Tamil)
Composer(s): Siddharth Vipin
Listen to the songs online here: Saavn
Mukesh's exuberant vocals and a punchy percussion lift the massy kuthu Takkaru Takkaru to soaring heights despite the catchy Takkaru refrain resembling Ram-Leela's Tattad Tattad. Karthik's sweet voice powers the ear-pleasing melody Otrai Devathai and so do Naresh Iyer and Shreya Ghoshal in the fantastic trance-like (or rather progressive house?) Rail Ade. Chella Kutty's energetic beats are groovy, even sounding like Nakku Mukka to some extent. Vaada Paa Maapillai, the theme song, goes the familiar inspiration route and is fairly impactful. Siddharth Vipin's tunes in Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham is apt for Santhanam's image makeover as a mass hero!
