Listen: Pravin Mani's "Baila Re Baila" (Tamil)

Very few songs automatically put a spring to your steps right in the very first listen. And one of them happens to be Baila Re Baila. Composed by debutant Pravin Mani, another long-time associate of A. R. Rahman, the folk song is what ultra-catchy stuff is made of, made all the more impossibly addictive, thanks to its rhythmic beats that recall to mind Kaasumela (the Singeetam Srinivasa Rao connection may be?), a funky bassline, and Clinton Cerejo and Chithra's ebullient rendition.
