Microsoft is ready to battle Chromebooks, iPads and Macs with a brand new laptop/tablet hybrid. Called Surface Go, it comes with a smaller 10-inch screen, Intel's dual core Pentium Gold 4415Y processor,
Windows 10 in S mode, 4GB RAM and 64GB SSD. The newest addition to the Surface family also starts at a more affordable US$ 399, but for that price, all you get is a bare-bones model without a stylus (US$ 99), Type Cover (US$ 99 or US$ 129 depending on the keyboard cover you choose) or a Mobile Mouse (US$ 34.99). While it does look like a promising low-cost iPad, touch-screen alternative, I am not sure it will convert Chromebook aficionados or users who are seeking cheaper laptops. It does look nice though.
