Tech Brief: Google Now's Predictive Cards Make a Comeback in Google Assistant

Back in 2012, Google introduced a cool search feature that proactively displayed all the relevant information you may need in the form of a scrollable list of cards. Called Google Now, it was a very handy way to aggregate all your information in one place, surfacing just the relevant bits, like travel times to your frequent places, upcoming appointments, flights, package delivery status and weather, at the right time without even having to ask for it. Later in 2015, Google introduced the ability for participating, installed third-party apps to generate cards within Now, making it much more easier to access your favourite services. However, with Google starting to place more emphasis on Google Assistant in 2016, the cards began to get buried under a new news Feed of sorts before eventually ceasing to show up altogether. Today, in a big update to Google Assistant, all the above said features are making a comeback, only this time, it's called a Visual Snapshot. Check it out below -
