Listen: M. Ghibran's "Gnyabagam Varugiradha" (Tamil)

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy's interpretation of the title song from Vishwaroopam was mighty impactful, suffused with punchy vocals from Suraj Jagan and a thudding military-style arrangement that blended beautifully with the Arabic flourishes sprinkled all throughout the track. In its sequel, Mohamaad Ghibran reimagines it beautifully, giving it a new dimension by completely eschewing the middle-eastern vibe for a grand orchestral Carnatic fusion that makes for a gripping listen in Aravind Srinivas and Sarath Santhosh's rendition. Listen to the old and new songs, and judge it for yourself -
