Music Review: Adanga Maru (Tamil)
Composer(s): Sam C. S.

Barely a few days after NOTA, Sam C. S. is back again, and this time, it's a much more mainstream outing that carries a four-quadrant appeal: a lilting Hindustani melody (Saayaali), an Imman-styled kuthu Aangu Vaangu, and interestingly arranged grungy hard-rock pieces (Pachai Dhrogangal, Kaar Irul) that make for an engaging listen. Adanga Maru is by no means path-breaking, but Sam's penchant for blending melodies with atmospherics continues to pay off in fascinating ways.
