Back in August, gifted indie folk-rock singers/songwriters Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus formed a new supergroup. Together, they called themselves boygenius, casually flipping the gender connotation on its head. With their self-titled debut EP (which by the way has arrived two weeks early), complement each other is what they do, and they do a damn fine job of it, culminating in a smorgasbord of folk and fuzzy rock that alternates between dense guitar riffs and dulcet melodies.
