Music Review: Asuravadham (Tamil)
Composer(s): Govind Vasantha (aka Govind Menon)

With movies like Seethakaathi, 96 and Moothon in his kitty, Thaikkudam Bridge founder and violinist Govind Vasantha definitely has an interesting lineup to look-forward to in 2018, and Asuravadham gives us a sneak-peek of what lies ahead. Raththa Aaraththi is grungy rock, aggressively rendered by Sivam and backed by frenetic guitar-work from fellow band member Mithun Raju. Ananthu gets to sing Enn Uyire, which he does mighty well, with Govind concocting a lovely tune that's accompanied by a splendorous assortment of flute (Kiran), guitar (Mithun Raju) and violin. Alathi Anbai is sung by Ananthu as well, but the song's pronounced Santhosh Narayanan vibe (that's evocative of Jigar) notwithstanding, it makes for a mesmerising listen. Govind Vasantha, in his sophomore outing in Tamil after Oru Pakka Kathai, impresses with Asuravadham.
