Listening to Sachin Warrier's tunes for Katheyondu Shuruvagide reminded me of Hesham Abdul Wahab. In a good way that is. Daariya Kaledukondide, in Leon de Souza and Inchara Rao's vocals, is calming and subtle, as is Bhoomi Baana Kaadambari, which Sachin Warrier not only renders to perfection, but also gives it a new lease of life with an intoxicating blend of clarinet (S. Nathan) and guitars (Sumesh Parameswar). Sachin also croons the lively Good Morning, a guitar-backed melody with a prominent brass section that's reminiscent of Amit Trivedi in its arrangements, with S. Nathan this time handling the sax and Jeevan Thomas on the trumpet. Dheemtha is pleasant-sounding and easy on the ears, the song gaining immensely from a lovely strings-laden orchestration, and Deepak Doddera and Sangeetha Ravindranath's flawless singing. Sachin Warrier, in his Kannada debut, delivers a soundtrack that's breezy, light and consistently melodious.
