Music Review: Nieraali (Malayalam)
Composer(s): SNP Yesen, Stephen Devassy

M. G. Sreekumar does well singing the catchy traditional folk number Kannane Kannalane, while Shreya Ghoshal is joined by Mohanlal for the pleasant melody Azhake Azhake Aadyamayi. Mohanlal's singing is not without its occasional rough patch, but he manages to hold quite well against Shreya Ghoshal. Vijay Yesudas is his usual inimitable self in Neeralippidutham, a bluesy theme song with an intriguing backdrop, even as Neerali Reloaded offers a slightly upbeat take, riding on Sreeraj Sahajan and Tojan's engaging vocals. Guest composer SNP Yesen goes full on dark and brooding with Kadhanam, and accompanied by Baburaj Menon's excellent rendition, there couldn't have been a better closer. Nieraali is definitely a lot better than what you get to hear these days in the name of music, but at the same time, there is nothing remarkable about it.
