Music Review: Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven (Tamil)
Composer(s): Hiphop Tamizha

Times may change, but not Hiphop Tamizha, and all indications are that they are going to be mining their patented EDM sound until it ceases to be profitable. To that extent, Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven, the Tamil remake of Attarintiki Daredi, is almost a spiritual follow-up to Kalakalappu 2, crafting what's a string of folk-laced tunes that, while raucous to the point of sounding noisy and shrill, is fleetingly catchy, the foot-tapping rework of Vanga Machan Vanga (while also riffing off En Aasai Mythiliye) and Sanjith Hegde-sung Pattamarangal (Devi Sri Prasad's Deva Devam from the original is equally good, if I may add) emerging the high points. The rest, meh.
