There is a Amit Trivedi'esque vibe to Aavoji (Aisha's Gal Mitthi Mitthi immediately comes to one's mind) that composer Santhosh Narayanan delivers in style. But as a tune, it is less interesting despite all the buoyant arrangements. Vellattu Kannazhagi is decidedly better, a breezy melody sung effortlessly by Sean Roldan. But he has a smashing saviour in Veyil Mazhayae, a captivating ghatam-laden melody beautifully sung by Vignesh Ishwar and Subiksha Rangarajan. Roldan entrenches further deep into the folk territory with a spectacular Ilaiyaraaja-like tune in Kodi Aruvi (Nalliravum aenga namma Isaignani mettu amaicha pattaa pongi vazhincha… goes the lyric at one point, in a not so subtle nod to the maestro), and giving him apt company are Pradeep Kumar and Nithyasree. Siragi Un Sirippaala and Love Polladhadhu are mellifluous, in a typical Sean Roldan/Santhosh Narayanan way that is, but propped very well by Sathyaprakash and Vijay Yesudas on the vocals. After completely missing in action in 2018, Sean Roldan leaves his signature stamp all over Mehandi Circus.
