As if singing across Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam wasn't keeping him occupied enough, Sid Sriram also turns composer for Vaanam Kottattum (Govind Vasantha was initially roped in to compose the score, but he was replaced by Sriram), and the result is an eclectic mish-mash of tunes, by turns serene (Kannu Thangom, Mannava) and refreshing, evoking the new-age Rahman aesthetic (particularly in the ambient En Uyir Kaatre) to a tee. Easy Come Easy Go is another highlight, riding on an infectious trap-like beat that's downright euphoric, while Thinam Thinam turns out to be an absolute ripper, channelling Rahman's Anbil Avan for what's a catchy trance fusion. Granted, not every song lands as it is supposed to, but you can't fault Sriram for wanting to try out something new, and it will be interesting how he goes from there.
