Listen: Greg Dulli's "A Ghost"
Afghan Whigs' frontman Greg Dulli is all set to make his solo debut with Random Desire in two days' time, the Ohio-based musician's first material following the release of In Spades (2017). Purveying a kind of darkly sinister alt-rock that offers a glimpse into "something I had not done and that looked attractive to me," the result is a 10-track effort, that runs the gamut from the moody, brooding It Falls Apart to the soaring, anthemic blast of post-punk rock that's Pantomima. A Ghost, now, furnishes yet another slice of the album, coasting along a sombre guitar-laden soundbed that's well complemented by its spectral Latinate flourishes and Dulli's vocal performance.
