Tech Brief: Google Testing a New Look for Mobile Search

In case you missed the memo, Google is about to unleash a dramatic redesign of Android in its upcoming version, betting big on white backgrounds and rounded corners. That may sound like a change for the sake of change, but nonetheless it marks an important step in the evolution of Material Design language that Google introduced with Android 5.0 back in 2014. To that effect, the search giant has been continuously tweaking its mobile search results page as well, ditching the sharp, rectangular cards in favour of rounded corners. But it appears that Google is still not done altering the look and feel of mobile search, as you can glean from the screenshots below -
