Tech Brief: Google is Selling Zagat to The Infatuation

Google is selling Zagat, the restaurant rating service it bought for US$ 151 million in 2011, to rival upstart The Infatuation for an undisclosed amount, according to The New York Times, confirming earlier rumours of a possible sale. Although the search giant gave the website a visual overhaul in 2016, Zagat has remained something of a lesser priority for Google, even as it continues to trim its wide-ranging portfolio, selling off acquired companies like Boston Dynamics, Schaft and Terra Bella over the last one year.
