Listen: Hiss Golden Messenger's "Watching The Wires" & "Everybody Needs Somebody"

This week is fast turning out to be a really good week for music. And it's just Thursday! Joining the list of Kevin Morby, Big Thief, Wild Pink and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever is folk rock purveyor MC Taylor, aka Hiss Golden Messenger, who is following up last year's compilation album Virgo Fool with a clutch of new songs for the new year. Watching the Wires, the first of the two, is a rollicking county affair, riding on a rhythmic drumbeat and soaring guitar riff that's reminiscent of Biloxi, while Everybody Needs Somebody contrastingly creeps up slower, but soulful all the same, complete with a chorus that goes "It bears repeating/ Everybody needs somebody..."
