Music Review: Nimir (Tamil)
Composer(s): B. Ajaneesh Loknath, Darbuka Siva

At a time when the sound of mainstream film music in India has become decidedly thin and ephemeral, composers Darbuka Siva and Ajaneesh Loknath take it upon themselves to unleash a cornucopia of beautiful melodies, liltingly crafted and fabulously sung by the singers involved. Yaenadi and Geedhaara Kiliye, in particular, are mesmerising, as are Poovukku and Loknath-composed Epodhum Unmael Nyabagam and Nenjil Mamazhai, to a lesser extent, even if it doesn’t make them any less listenable. Nimir is a refreshing, rewarding soundtrack worth giving a shot!
