Tech Brief: RIP Swype!

Swype, the once popular third-party keyboard that originated and pioneered gesture typing, a tech that allowed smartphone users to type words without lifting their fingers, is dead. The app, which was acquired by Nuance for US$ 102 million back in 2011, will no longer be updated, according to a statement published on the company's website earlier this month, adding the "change is necessary to allow us to concentrate on developing our AI solutions for sale directly to businesses."
