Heavy Rotation: Amit Anand, Jakes Bejoy, M. Jayachandran & More
Jayachandran's Aami and other listens from Jakes Bejoy, Amit Anand, Rochak Kohli and more...
Pranayamayi Radha, Neer Maathalam (M. Jayachandran, Aami) - Shreya Ghoshal sounding completely at home in Malayalam is something I would have never anticipated a few years back, but she is that effortlessly flawless, adorning Jayachandran's liltingly crafted melodies with a soul-stirring beauty that's hard to miss.
Ada Ada (Mannar Vagaiyara), Ponnumkasavinte (Queen) (Jakes Bejoy) - Repeat-worthy melodious tunes from Jakes Bejoy. But seriously, Madhu Balakrishnan needs to be heard more often!
Neenondu Ashcharya (Amit Anand, Gultoo) - What a fresh, bouncy melody! Plus having Eesha Suchi and Deepak Doddera behind the mic really helps.
Lae Dooba (Rochak Kohli, Aiyaary) - Rochak is no stranger when it comes to soft acoustic compositions, but he one ups himself with an ear-pleasing melody in Lae Dooba, with Sunidhi Chauhan lending spectacular vocal support.
Ajnabi, Ghayal (Ajay Govind-Nitin Krishna Menon), Rain (Joi Barua) (My Birthday Song) - A little gem of a soundtrack, bolstered by excellent melodies and fabulous singing by Mohan Kannan and Joi Barua. It's a pity songs like these don't get the attention they deserve!
Chirunama Thana Chirunama (Shekar Chandra, Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada) - A fantastic qawwali tailor-made for Yazin Nizar and the man dependably aces it.
