Listen: The 1975's "Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America" ft. Phoebe Bridgers

The 1975 are busy charting a return with their fourth studio album Notes on a Conditional Form (5/22), the much-awaited follow-up to the Manchester-based pop rock outfit's acclaimed A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships. To that effect, Matthew Healy & co. have been steadily trickling out tracks one after the other — at the same time seamlessly flitting from one sonic space to another — but Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America, as the new song is called, might possibly be their most gentle one yet. Pairing subtle acoustic strumming with evocative horns, the ruminative melody finds Healy singing about falling in love with a boy he knows, while Phoebe Bridgers chips in with a verse about falling in love with a girl next door.
