Heavy Rotation: CHVRCHES, Nico Yaryan, Pantha du Prince & More

Some of my picks from this week, including CHVRCHES, Nico Yaryan and Pantha du Prince...

Warning Call (CHVRCHES) - Listening to Warning Call and Yumi Zouma's Short Truth, you would be given to thinking they are from the same band. For they sound so alike, yet so different. Synth-pop cannot get any more better!

Jungla Inquieta (Maria Usbeck) - Usbeck's latest percussion-heavy offering is almost like finding yourself in midst of a restless jungle, and a departure of sorts from what we have heard thus far from the talented Ecuadorean singer's upcoming album Amparo.

Old Skool (Metronomy) - With a moniker like Metronomy, expecting anything other than an addictive metronomic song is a sacrilege!

Just Tell Me (Nico Yaryan) - A simple guitary ode to heartbreak from Nico Yaryan's debut album What A Tease, which is set for release next month.

Frau im Mond, Sterne laufen (Pantha du Prince aka Hendrik Weber) - 6:12 minutes of celestial, other-worldly bliss. You can read more about it here (via NPR).

True Love Waits (Radiohead) - Radiohead's surprise new LP A Moon Shaped Pool is a veritable stunner, but this album-closer about true love is too haunting a listen to give it a miss.

Narcoleptic, Demented, Sister, I Beg You, Paradise (White Lung) - White Lung's Paradise is packed with anthemic, arena-rocking thrashers which are frankly manic. Gripping, kick-ass stuff!
