Barsan Laagi (Shail-Pritesh, Sarabjit) - Rajasthani singer Shail Hada envelops the listener in a downpour of emotions. Easily one of the better songs I have heard this year!
Maula (Rohan-Vinayak, Nil Battey Sannata) - Another composer duo make their film debut, and despite the tune's hymnal Amit Trivedi'esque aesthetic, Nandini Srikar's accomplished singing helps it every bit.
Yegirenay Yegirenay (Mickey J. Meyer, Okka Ammayi Thappa) - Mickey's Okka Ammayi Thappa is largely lacklustre, but has this lilting earworm of a melody Yegirenay Yegirenay sung by Abhay Jodhpurkar and Ramya Behara.
Kutheeti (C. Sathya, Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikkaaran) - C. Sathya unleashes his musical talents in his latest offering, with Aaravalli's manic kuthu, Papparamittai's brass-band base, and Ayyo Paavam's folk-rock love failure soundscape all getting an innovative spin from the composer. But Kutheeti is where he really wows, delivering a stunner of a folky Imman'ish melody. And that ektara is a total bliss out.
