Music Review: Kammatipaadam (Malayalam)
Composer(s): John P. Varkey, K, Vinayakan

The haunting manner John P. Varkey's Para Para opens, it almost belies the manic choral chant that follows, before ebbing to a sedate close. Varkey's other offering Chingamaasathile is a stunning throwback in Anoop Mohandas's superlative rendition, and Karthik for his part aces the K-composed dulcet melody Kaathirunna Pakshi Njan. Vinayakan's Puzhu Pulikal, sung by Sunil Mathai and Savio Laz, goes traditional, ending the soundtrack on a pensive conversational note between a father and a son. Kammatipaadam is mostly situational, but nonetheless refreshing.
