Music Review: Mudhugauv (Malayalam)

Halli Sreehalli features great singing from Chinmayi, but the folky dance number is customary at best. Haricharan Seshadri likewise aces the Pani Da Rang-like simple guitary melody Thoominnal (the flute-filled first interlude is top-notch by the way), while in Rambo, composer Rahul Raj impresses with a superb retro-styled disco tune that's fabulously rendered by Vijay Yesudas, which gets an even better violin'esque treatment in its instrumental variant reminiscent of Ilaiyaraaja. Mudhugauv, while no White, makes for quite an enjoyable listen.
