Book Review: Make Me

Make Me
The guy on the left said, "Are you going to be a problem?"
"I'm already a problem," Reacher said. "The question is, what are you going to do about it?"

Where do I begin? So there was a time when I enjoyed every single Jack Reacher novel and anxiously waited for the next one to arrive. That was the time when what Reacher did sounded smart, believable and all-round kickass. Not anymore. Over the last few books (A Wanted Man, Personal), it became abundantly clear to me that Lee Child, like John Grisham, not only had run out of ideas as to how to take the series forward, but also turned it utterly indifferent in that the stories have begun to look alike, following a set formula, as if they were put together by a robot. The writing in itself is tired and uninspired, and the lesser said about the ludicrous plot (about luring people via Internet chatrooms to a far off place called Mother's Nest to kill them off), the better. What a bore!
