Music Review: Oru Indian Pranayakatha (Malayalam)
Composer(s): Vidyasagar
Film: Oru Indian Pranayakatha
Omana Komala's (Najim Arshad, Abhirami Ajith) Carnatic-folk mix works beautifully, the nadaswaram bits in the arrangements being the highlight. K. S. Chithra proves why she's the voice to reckon for with the gorgeously tuned semi-classical Shyamameghame that's Vidyasagar's forte. Shweta Mohan, Mansi and Harish do their parts well in the North Indian celebratory track Saajan, while G. Sriram's oldie-styled singing does wonders for the immensely catchy Valedukkanum, although it reminded me of Nattamai's Kotapaakum (Sirpy) at places. Equally interesting is the orchestration that accompanies the song. Oru Indian Pranayakatha marks the first time collaboration of director Sathyan Anthikkad with Vidyasagar and is definitely a chartbuster!
