The horns-laden title song is easily listenable and its orchestration is nicely done. It carries a whiff of Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, but Shankar Mahadevan and Sonu Nigam — who indulge in some great yodelling — totally 'kill' the song with their effervescent vocals. Happy Budday stays strictly middle of the road despite Sukhwinder Singh's energetic rendition working for it. Sajde's Punjabi folk touches are instantly captivating, with the soothing melody gaining immensely from Arijit Singh and Nihira Joshi's singing. Sunidhi Chauhan and Siddharth Mahadevan join hands for the Punjabi-rock-mix Bol Beliya, while the retro-styled Sweeta, sung well by Adnan Sami, is short and appositely sweet. Daiyaa Maiyya is too haphazard a musical medley to make an impact, but Shankar Mahadevan returns to his classical roots, crooning alongside Nihira Joshi, the mesmerising fusion Baawra. Album closer Nakhriley rides on a 90's styled classical-qawwali blend, layering bright vocals from Ali Zafar and Mahalakshmi Iyer with throwback rhythms. All said, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy make an effortlessly superlative outing with Kill Dil.
