Music Review: Ormayundo Ee Mukham (Malayalam)
Composer(s): Shaan Rahman
Listen to the songs online here: YouTube (Malayalam Muzik247)
Violins embellish the gorgeous Ee Mizhikalin, a soothing semi-classical melody that gets wonderful accompaniment in singers Vineeth Sreenivasan and Mridula Warrier. The immensely likeable and bouncy Aaromale, in Shaan's vocals, is pleasantly catchy thanks to its reggae'ish roots (is that jal tarang by the way?), and Payye Payye, with its dreamy A. R. Rahman-like arrangements (that flute!), is an astounding symposium of sounds and KS Harishankar's spotless rendition makes it all the more mesmerising. Chayunnuvo (Shaan Rahman) is groovy techno-pop, as Vineeth Sreenivasan and Rinu Razak rock Doore Doore in two separate versions, the former incorporating an easily accessible pop arrangement and the latter going for a minimalist piano reprise. Shaan Rahman strikes yet again in style with Ormayundo Ee Mukham.
