Music Review: Neram (Malayalam/Tamil)
Composer(s): Rajesh Murugesan
Film: Neram
Kadhal Ennulle (Ranjith Govind) is quite like A. R. Rahman's Omana Penne with all that nadaswaram interludes while Haricharan excels in the extremely hummable and breezy Kaatru Veesum. Benny Dayal's enthusiastic vocals are a perfect fit for the racy Evan Avan and so is the case with the wacky Pistah (Sabareesh Varma), which has already become a rage thanks to its absurd lyrics and catchy kuthu beats. The Neram Theme has a mysterious and enigmatic feel to it at the same time incorporating a wide mix of instruments like guitar and thavil. The Phone Booth and Thiruttu Isai are gorgeous instrumentals, the latter a techno remix of Beethoven's Für Elise. Rajesh Murugesan makes a noticeable debut with Neram.
