Music Review: Ka Pae Ranasingam (Tamil)
Composer(s): M. Ghibran
Listen to the songs online here: Gaana
Ghibran adorns Punnagaiyae with a thudding, strings-heavy instrumentation that befits the melancholy-soaked rousing piece, while Gold Devaraj's peppy vocals beautifully complements the traditional folk tune Alagiya Sirukki, even as the composer makes subtle tweaks to his typical style of melody and beat (that ektara!), giving the track a new dimension. Paravaigala is hypnotic in its exploration of grief, with singer Manikandan Perumpadappu hitting all the right notes with his splendid rendition. The sombre closer Thaarayadi Nee Enakku is no different, and Ghibran's blend of classical and orchestral elements stands out, just as Devaraj's heartfelt delivery completely sells it. Mohamaad Ghibran has a winner on his hands with Ka Pae Ranasingam.
