An euphoric folk-rock soundbed, complete with enticing brass segments, bedeck the groovy Once Upon a Time in Ranni, while Prashant stacks lovely harmonies (that sax!) in Thora Mazhayilum, even as Vineeth Sreenivasan and Preeti Pillai play off each other so beautifully. Pillai returns a second time for the serene, wistful piece Kaana Dooram, infusing the twinkling arrangement with tasteful sitar strains that makes it an intoxicating listen. Prashant Pillai's decision to rope in K. S. Harisankar to handle Eeran Kannil and Kaalamere Poi Maikilum pays off wonderfully — the former spiralling into a layered and intricate acoustic ballad, and the latter pairing his vocals against exquisite swirls of electronic colour. Prashant Pillai delivers genre-fluid sounds in his signature style with Saajan Bakery Since 1962.
