Music Review: Khuda Haafiz (Hindi)
Composer(s): Mithoon

Mithoon has perfected the art of delivering melancholic music suffused with sad sweet overtones, and Khuda Haafiz is no exception. The result is an album that mostly sticks to one sonic lane, with little surprises in store. But amidst the composer's usual bells and whistles are two standout tracks: Jaan Ban Gaye, which builds on his earlier works Maula Mere Maula (Anwar) and Madno Re (Lamhaa) for what's a lush, sedate melody that Vishal Mishra and Asees Kaur nail it with their lovely rendition. The other highlight is Mera Intezaar Karna, a soaring piece propelled by Armaan Malik's vocal firepower that's layered against a lovely assortment of breezy strings and shehnai. It's an unalloyed delight!
