Listen: James Blake's "Mulholland"

Electronic soul musician James Blake came out with Assume From just a couple of months ago, marrying his intricately constructed aesthetic with modern pop and trap elements, at the same time sounding joyous and more at peace with himself. But in an interesting turn of events, the Deluxe edition of the album, which was released yesterday, features an exclusive bonus track called Mulholland. It's signature Blake in that the song is filled with heavily distorted vocals sung over a simple piano-driven melody and slow beat. The minimalist cut features the sonic experimenter's manipulated wails traversing an atmospheric, shape-shifting production, something akin to what we heard previously in If the Car Beside You Moves Ahead, which he shared early last year, but was never featured on the album.
