Music Review: Spyder (Telugu/Tamil)
Composer(s): Harris Jayaraj

Boom Boom, riding on a brass-driven hook, comes too close on the heels of Damn Damn, and in Haali Haali, the composer retools Andangkaka with a qawwali'esque edge that while engaging doesn't bring much by way of new. Rhyming mysterious with gorgeous, obscurious and Confucius, Achcham Telugandham is Halena 2.0, but with a classical touch that adds a fresh twist to an otherwise nondescript synth-laden melody. The soundtrack's easy highlight is Ciciliya Ciciliya, a breezy, easy-on-the-ears melody sung by Haricharan and Shakthisree Gopalan featuring a peppy guitar-backed arrangement that complements it so beautifully. Spyder finds Harris Jayaraj once again in rehash mode, but as a soundtrack, it works better in Tamil than in Telugu.
