Music Review: Thiruttuppayale 2 (Tamil)
Composer(s): Vidyasagar

Vidyasagar returned to Tamil last year after a brief sabbatical of sorts with Uchathula Shiva, which featured the lovely Balram-sung Pesu Pesu. In what's his second comeback after almost an year, the man whips up two lilting tunes Nee Paarkum and Neenda Naal, both of which sound so fresh despite the composer's trademark flourishes, a dark jazz-rock theme marked by Vidyasagar's drawled vocals and a punchy genre-shifting kuthu fusion Achukku Buchukku sung with verve by Sanjana Kalmanje. Thiruttuppayale 2 is a homecoming for Vidyasagar, but it's perplexing why he isn't seen more often!
