Montreal-based experimental electronic artist Tim Hecker has unleased a new song called Demeter & Johannes' Song of Pandemia in collaboration with Polish avant-folk group Ksiezyc that's about "an ancient Slavic spell, [...] the purpose of which is to call forth spring after a dark, terrifying wintertime." Melding electronic and orchestral swells, the track submerges the celestial vocals of Agata Harz and Katarzyna Smoluk in a massive wall of queasy sounds, while masterfully building from its delicate start into a hypnotic and emotionally resonant soundscape that's at once ominous sounding and enchanting.
