Listen: Rose City Band's "Lonely Places"

Rose City Band is a solo Americana project led by Portland-based Erik "Ripley" Johnson, who is also the guitarist of psychedelic rock band Wooden Shjips and one half of Moon Duo. First came the self-titled debut in 2019, which was followed last year by the excellent Summerlong. Now Johnson is back with his third outing in three years, called Earth Trip, teasing its June release (6/25) with a new song called Lonely Places, a free-flowing slice of pastoral folk and sun-washed cosmic country that makes for a pretty listen.
