Listen: Tame Impala's "Lost in Yesterday"

We are about a month away from Tame Impala's third full-length The Slow Rush, and now the Australian psych-rockers are back with another sun-soaked jam called Lost in Yesterday. Gone is the disco vibe of Borderline, the hazy balladry of Posthumous Forgiveness, and the aggressive distortion-heavy melody of It Might Be Time (although Patience set the stage for the album's rollout last year, the advance single appears to have failed to make it to the final cut). In its place is a more poppier tune that glides across slinky grooves and iridescent synths, but full of Kevin Parker's usual psych-rock trickery, his falsetto vocals and an addictive funk-infused hook that recalls to mind The Less I Know The Better. It's not boundary-pushing by any means, but what it lacks in terms of eargasmic psychedelia of their past works (Feels Like We Only Go Backwards still rules!), Parker and co. make up for it by way of crafting a song that's instantly likeable and musically accessible. Give it a listen right below -
