Music Review: Thozha (Tamil)
Composer(s): Gopi Sundar
Listen to the songs online here: Saavn
Shankar Mahadevan's exuberant vocals find their perfect match in the breezy Baby Odadhay, and likewise Karthik's in Pudhidhaa and Nagarum, with Gopi Sundar's violins working their magic for the serene melodies. Eiffel Melay is mighty catchy, made even more appealing by the trendy folk fusion, while Vijay Prakash holds fort as usual in the minimalist ballad Enadhuyirae. The title song is okay I guess, but Door Number has all the makings of shoehorning an item number for no apparent reason. Thozha is mostly enjoyable, but is also a soundtrack Gopi Sundar could have composed in his sleep.
