Music Review: Ivan Maryadaraman (Malayalam)
Composer(s): Gopi Sundar

Vijay Yesudas and Divya S. Menon are endearing in the ear-pleasing and metronomic Choolamittu (just like the theevandi!), while the celebratory Ezhazhakulla, for all its peppy arrangements, is quite evocative of Mangalyam (Bangalore Days). Manushya Hridayam goes the folk route, and the chorus, led by Gopi Sundar himself and Ajay Sen, is top-notch. The soundtrack's undoubted highlight however is the ethereal stunner of a melody that's Ummarathe. Accompanied by violin layers (it reminds one of Anuraga Vilochananayi and Ente Khalbile, no?) and wonderfully sung by Devanand and Divya S. Menon, the whispery song is sublime enough to give you a musical high. Gopi Sundar has another winner on his hands with Ivan Maryadaraman!
