Music Review: Romeo Juliet (Tamil)

Composer(s): D. Imman

Anirudh Ravichander's peppy vocals powers the passable kuthu Dandanakka, while Imman adds his typical flourishes to the melodious Thoovaanam sung by Vishal Dadlani and Sunitha Sarathy in separate versions. Vishal's second song Romeo Romeo, a party track, and the heartbreak gaana Arakki are however less appealing. The soundtrack's best comes in the form of Idarkuthaane Aasaipattai, an imaginatively arranged retro-ish jazzy number that gets perfect accompaniment in Vaikom Vijayalakshmi's superlative singing. Not one of Imman's best, but Romeo Juliet sails through.
