Listen: Steve Hauschildt's "Nonlin"
I cannot be possibly more pumped for ex-Emeralds member Steve Hauschildt's sophomore release. Arriving just little over a year after Dissolvi, Nonlin promises to be just as sonically arresting as his previous works — a fact evidenced by Subtractive Skies, a quietly pulsating synth squall that set the tone for what's to follow next. Now, we're getting a little more of it. Serving as the title track for upcoming LP, the shuffling instrumental is a fresh direction for the Cleveland musician, but one that aptly fits the structurally freer and looser theme of the album: "Nonlin is a fly-through inside abstract landscapes ever evolving and changing nature. Their emergence and disappearance are triggered by the multiple changes within the music, sometimes disintegrating into minimal lines and other times materialising into almost tangible matter."
