Sarakka follows a tried and tested gaana route, but with some spunky vocals from the composer and nifty guitar strums around the hook. Even more groovy guitar work features in the techno-laden Mokka Piece that gets pitch-perfect accompaniment in Benny Dayal's upbeat singing. Vijay Prakash and Shakthisree Gopalan rule the mighty innovative semi-classical fusion Mora Saiyya, and of particular interest is the sitar solo in the second interlude. The guitary titular track is fittingly melodious and romantic too, with Amrit showing a different, softer side to his voice. The only dampener comes in the form of Ennodu, which feels as if an S. A. Rajkumar tune was remixed for the current generation. Of the two instrumentals, Two Opposites incorporates a neat accordion-violin medley, while The Return of Love is too short to make an impact. Amrit makes a promising debut with Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam.
