Heavy Rotation: Aurora Aksnes, Little Big Town, The Piano Guys & More

Some of the recent listens from Aurora Aksnes, Little Big Town, The Piano Guys and Jay Sean...

Runaway, Running With the Wolves (Aurora Aksnes) - Aurora's scintillating voice is perfect and there's a touch of Adele and Ellie Goulding somewhere that I'm unable to lay my finger on. Nevertheless beautiful and haunting!

Chasing Pavements (Adele) - Speaking of Adele, Chasing Pavements is characterised by such a raw emotion, it is easily my favourite of hers closely followed by Rolling in the Deep.

Whiskey Lullaby (Brad Paisley ft. Alison Krauss) - Perhaps one of the best heartbreak songs I've heard. So moving.

Ride It (Jay Sean) - Sensuous and sexy, Ride It is one helluva steamy, seductive track along the lines of Enrique's Ring My Bells and Janet Jackson's That's the Way Love Goes.

Girl Crush (Little Big Town) - Not only is the song touching, Karen Fairchild's singing brings out the pangs of jealousy very well too.

Jurassic World Theme (The Piano Guys) - Exquisite and sheer poetry, that's what comes to my mind when I listen to The Piano Guys' take on John Williams' iconic original score.

Bloodstream (Ed Sheeran) - A soulful rock number from Ed Sheeran and the humming is just perfect!

The Pressure (Jhene Aiko) - Guitars, synth and Jhene Aiko's vocals lend the song a superb trance-inducing trippy feel.

Heart is a Drum, Blue Moon (Beck) - Pleasant folk tunes, with the mellow arrangements being a big plus.

Who Is It (Michael Jackson) - Who doesn't like Michael Jackson, but this soulful song about betrayal is a fantastic listen, particularly that flute!

I'm Not the Only One (Sam Smith) - Sam Smith's jazzy take on pathos.

Crystallize (Lindsey Stirling) - Dubstep and violins, what an intoxicating blend!

Yesterday's Son (Lifehouse) - Possibly one of the highlights from Lifehouse's latest album Out of the Wasteland, the song's lovely piano intro paves way for a superb vocal harmony. The pensive Hourglass comes a close second.
