Nacchite Ye Panaina is groovy techno-rock fusion, beautifully complemented by Arijit Singh, as does Shalmali Kholgade in the addictive Okkariki Ki Okkaram. Raanaa — punctuated by strings and a heady rock base — is equally catchy, while Hayi Hayi's waltz-like melody is lilting, both propelled along extremely well by Arijit. Aanatidevadasu — despite Shalmali's valiant effort and Sunny's interesting musical phrases — comes off as boilerplate electropop, even as Andony Dasan-sung What Is This Bossu aims for a Santhosh Narayanan'esque backdrop that blends electronic sounds with traditional folk for a passably engaging fusion. Arijit comes back a third time for He Is Mr. Mosagadu, with the retro-leaning soundscape turning out to be as thrilling as it's intriguing. The title song is given a metallic shean that gets its fitting accompaniment in an assorted dubstep-hip-hop-rap package, but Villain closes the soundtrack on a Celtic high, embracing a mellifluous tune that works big-time, thanks to Parthasarathy's vocals. Not every song lands as it is supposed to, but Pritam's sound engineer Sunny M. R. concocts a wacky musical potpourri with Dohchay.
