Music Review: Aambala (Tamil)
Composer(s): Hiphop Tamizha
Listen to the songs online here: Saavn
A sprightly rendition from Kailash Kher, Vishu Priya and Maria Roe Vincent notwithstanding, the loud and overpowering percussion in the folky Madras to Madurai mars the listening experience. Pazhagikalam, sung by Hiphop Tamizha, is however catchy and the techno beats kicks ass. The multi-genre arrangements of Yaar Yenna Sonnalum sounds refreshing and so is the choice of singers Kutle Khan, Andony Dasan and Varun Parandhaman, making the song an arresting listen. The bouncy Aye Aye Aye gets solid purchase in Hiphop Tamizha's ebullient vocals, as Mohit Chauhan and Amrita Shekar rule the cool hip-hop number Vaa Vaa Vennila. Hiphop Tamizha stay true to their name, delivering trendy music for Aambala in their superb filmy debut!
